aquapuncture and physio galwayPortumna Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic first opened its doors on the 1st July 2002. It is a bright, spacious and modern, purpose built facility. It has ample parking space with full wheelchair accessibility. There is a spacious waiting room overlooking beautiful gardens with toilet facilities.

The clinic boasts a 40metre squared gymnasium area for rehabilitation purposes. In addition there are two private treatment rooms.

Brian Murphy MISCPBrian gained his motivation to become a Chartered Physiotherapist after breaking his leg while playing rugby at school in Cistercian College Roscrea! After completing a B.Sc. in Physiology & Biochemistry in NUIG, he began his studies in Physiotherapy in Glasgow Caledonian University. After graduating in 1998 he worked in Falkirk Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh Orthopaedic Clinic and Falkirk Sports Injury Clinic.

Brian founded the Clinic when he returned from Scotland in 2002, with great assistance from his Dad, Dr Sean Murphy and Mum, Noreen who continues to help at the practice. He lives locally in Portumna with his wife Lyndsay (who also helps at the clinic) and 3 boys Ben, Sam & Luke.

Elaine is well known to many sports players throughout the county (and beyond!) as she has worked with many teams including, Galway camogie, Davitts camogie, Killimor, Mullagh, Lorrha/Dorrha, Portumna and Tynagh Abbey/Duniry GAA and camogie clubs to name a few! Specialising in deep tissue and sports massage, Elaine is available for pitchside treatment at games and/or training sessions. She also provides all treatments here at the Portumna Physiotherapy Clinic.
